Inappropriate bargains, unlikely liaisons and horny individuals too dirty for their own good abound. Would mom really encourage the servant woman to give her son sexual release? Maybe, in someone else's life I haven't lived. I suppose that is the whole point of reading trashy erotica.Russell's passionate prose is interesting but is also, unfortunately, suffering a lack of polish. No, not Polish. Polish, with a little p (except at the beginning of a sentence). Epps' sentences are mostly complete, and the periods and capitals tend to stay where they belong despite all the unlikely intertwined bodies being strewn about like beads at Mardi Gras. You'll find an occasional lie where a lay belongs, and once I noticed a passed where a past was meant to reside. The similes, metaphors and cliches overrun the story line faster than a bunch of progressive authoritarians finger pointing and drafting new legislation after a madman's shooting rampage. Another weird little writing quirk I noticed was that in one short, the female character is named Arianna and in another the male protagonist (if you can go that far) is named Adrian. Something about that name must resonate.
A less explosive example of the prose you can expect - "Chelsea, my masseuse for the evening, looked as though she was just out of college. She wore a black miniskirt, a spaghetti-string blouse, and had sensual auburn hair. Her breasts were being constrained by a bra, but even then they seemed to almost be ready to burst out. I did some light flirting and got a bit done in return, until she was ready. 'Okay,' the auburn-haired maiden stood over me, rubbing her hands together. They were coated in some kind of gel. "Let's get started." Then she took off her top, exposing the bountiful breasts without a second thought."
One can imagine what happens next. The shuddering, the thrusting, the loud moans and the climactic climaxes! It's all stuffed in there between the virtual folds of this short, short e-book. Any trace of subtlety has been left somewhere else. There is a lot of action, not a lot of foreplay. If this is your style, then consider making 5 Erotic (Short) Stories a part of your collection.
